CATARACTS
Cataract
is
a
clouding
of
the
normally
clear
lens
of
the
eye.
For
people
having
cataracts,
vision
is
a
bit
like
looking
through
a
frosty
or
fogged-up
window.
Most
cataract
happens
because
of
normal
changes
in
your
eyes
as
you
get
older.
Around
age
40
the
proteins
in
the
lens
of
your
eyes
start
to break down and clump together. This clump makes a cloudy area on your lens.
Event
-
We,
As
a
team
in
Param
Foundation
realizes
the
need
of
the
fact
that
in
India
approx
72%
of
the
blindness
is
due
to
cataracts.
So,
we
took
a
very
small
initiative
towards
this
bigger
problem.
In
the
first
phase,
we
have
successfully
conducted
cataract
surgery
of
42
peoples
on
17th
February
2023.
The
event
was
at
Navadrishti
Eye
Care,
since
it
was
the
ideal
venue
for
the
cataract
surgery.
Team
param
had
already
identified
42
peoples
who were financially weaker and were in absolute urgency.
On
the
noble
day
under
the
patronage
of
Dr.
Sanjay
Kr
Singh
(A
renowned
eye
surgeon
of
Patna)
surgeries
were
successfully
done.
All
the
patients
were
welcome
in
a
warm
manner
with
the
utmost
objective
of
serving
mankind.
The
doctor's
team
have
used
high
grades
medical
equipments
to
ensure
the
accurate
and
quality
results.
We
would
like
to
thank
some
local
volunteers
who
came
forward
putting
their
contributions
to
the
event
offering
welfare
services
to
the
society.
Finally,
our
heartiest
gratitude
towards
some
great
souls
without
whom
the
whole
Karmakand(as per vedic literature) wouldn't have made this far.
